Dedication

Teesmouth LifeboatSupporters Association

Teesmouth lifeboat Supporters Association are not part of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution

The official opening and dedication of the new crew facility at the Teesmouth Lifeboat Station

took place on

Saturday 26th June at 2.00 p.m.

The building consists of:
Ground floor……… Storage,
First floor………….Souvenir Shop, mechanics workshop, crew training room, crew changing room, toilets, shower, drying facilities and personal lockers.
Second Floor…….. Station Managers office, recreational area, kitchen area, watch station with MarineVHF Radio and chart table.


The day began with members of the station crew and organisers, Valerie Nixon, Ali Thompson, Ernie Douglass and Cameron Davidson, having an early start hanging bunting, RNLI house flags, placing barriers etc, A marquee was also erected for the musicians of the Cleveland Police Band.
Sadly the weather was not too kind, a cool stiff breeze had been around all morning and the rain came just as the ceremony was about to begin. However this did not detur our dedicated guests and on-lookers.
Dr Cameron Davidson, Chairman of the Teesmouth Lifeboat Station, opened the proceedings welcoming honoured guests and all present to the dedication ceremony.
Iain R. Bryce, TD,DL,FCA, Treasurer of the RNLI, handed over the new building into the care of the Teesmouth Lifeboat Station.
Neil Marson, Lifeboat Operations Manager of Teesmouth Lifeboat Station accepted the new building on behalf of the Station.
Colin Worswick, Port Chaplain Tees South, Mission to Seafarers, conducted the Service of Dedication, with the Reading by Peter Race Retired Coxn. Teesmouth Lifeoat.
The Lord Crathorne, Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, officially opened the new building and unveiled a commemorative plaque.
John Race, Coxswain of the Teesmouth Lifeboat, proposed a Vote of Thanks and presented Lord Crathorne with a framed photograph of The Teesmouth Lifeboat signed by members of the Station Crew.
Dr Cameron Davidson, closed the proceedings.
The Teesmouth Lifeboat "Phil Mead" launched with Lord Crathorne and other dignitaries on board for a commemorative trip out into the Tees Bay.
The Lifeboat returned to station, and a buffet was enjoyed in the new crew facility by invited guests, wives and girlfriends of the Teesmouth Lifeboat Crew.
